What is the law of attraction? How does it work? Does it really work or is it just nonsense?
If you’re asking these questions and trying to find the answer, you’ve come to the right place.
In this article, we’ll be delving into what the law of attraction is about as well as how it works.
Let’s dive in.
What is the Law of Attraction?
Like attracts like.
This is the main premise of the law of attraction and how it works.
Everything on earth is made up of energy. Because of this, the energy in each matter is constantly vibrating.
According to the law of attraction, everyone attracts what he or she is putting out in the universe through his or her energy.
A lot of people choose not to believe the law of attraction. But regardless of whether you believe it or not, we are all constantly sending out vibrational frequency into the universe. Thus, we receive the same energy back.
If the law of attraction is as simple as being the energy we want to attract, then why isn’t everyone doing it?
This is because most people use it wrong. Keep reading to find out why.
You create your thoughts, your thoughts create your intentions and your intentions create your reality. – Wayne Dyer
When most people hear about the law of attraction they think:
“If I just imagine becoming a millionaire, and think really hard, then the universe will send me a million dollars.”
Well, that’s not how the law of attraction works and is why so many people don’t believe in it.
So how does the law of attraction really work?
When you apply and use the law of attraction right, this is how your mindset will be:
“If I want to become a millionaire, put all my thoughts around becoming one, believe that’s what I deserve, and actually do the work, then the universe will help me find a way to reach my goals.”
Our Life is Created By No One Else But Ourselves
Our thoughts are what push us to take action, our actions then become habits. These habits become our reality.
This law works no matter what age, gender, race, nationality, or status you have. The law of attraction does not discriminate.
It uses the power of our minds and our thoughts. The mind is a powerful tool to manifest our desires and goals. What we think has a direct effect on what we do and take action on. Additionally, what we focus on is what we materialize into real life.
The law of attraction is not always a positive thing. We need to be wary as well.
So many thoughts that enter our minds each day are negative ones. So, if we allow these negative thoughts to keep playing in our minds, then we manifest a negative reality. But if you decide to focus on positive outcomes, believe in them, and take action towards it, you will reap the rewards.
The Science Behind The Law Of Attraction
If the law of attraction still seems a bit too out there for you, then we urge you to keep reading.
Here is the science behind the law of attraction.
Scientists are now able to explain the complex human brain and its connection to the body. Because of new and advanced technology, more and more studies continue to grow and discover revolutionary ways to use the human mind to its fullest potential. One of them being the law of attraction.
Neuroanatomy
Neuroanatomy is a study that involves neurons, specifically mirror neurons. These neurons are what gave scientists a peek at how our brains react in social interactions. It is also one of the key components of scientists’ studies around human habits and learned behavior.
An important element of the Law of Attraction is being positive, open, and receptive to good energy. This makes one vibrate on a higher frequency and affects those around them.
A large part of the Law of Attraction is learning how to be an open, happy person who vibrates on a high frequency and induces a positive response in others.
When we spread positive and uplifting vibrations to others, we attract these same qualities in our life. This can be explained by the mirror neurons. These neurons follow, mimick, or “mirror” the behaviors we observe.
Just as positive vibrations are contagious so are negative ones.
Brain Chemistry Research
A lot of studies and research have shown that the brain responds better through visual cues. As compared to verbal ones, visual cues are much stronger.
If you tell your brain words, it tends to get bored. But by using visuals and pictures to mentally show things, the brain responds differently. It shows a much higher interest.
This is how visualization and vision boards came about. Another powerful element of the law of attraction.
The Theory of Relativity and Quantum Physics
According to the Theory of Relativity by Albert Einstein, he showed us that different atomic energy vibrates at different rates.
E= mc2
This famous formula has proved that energy and matter are one and the same.
This energy continuously moves both inside our body and around our physical space. However, it is not easy for us to perceive these different vibrations with just the human senses. But knowing that science has proven that we are made up of the same energy as everything else that exists around us, strengthens the scientific proof of how the law of attraction works.
So how does that tie back to the law of attraction?
There is an invisible consciousness that exists within all of us.
The atomic particles of matter are very small. On the other hand, waveform energy is not particle-based. They are waveform-based. These waves can be in the form of your thoughts, images in the brain, feelings, or emotions. All these types of energies are noted in quantum physics as well as mechanical physics.
As humans, we possess both particle-based energy and waveform-based energy. Our inner wave-form energy flows in between our particle-based energy. This then proves how our waveform energies – thoughts, emotions, and feelings, affect our particle-based energy which is our external results.
So, in order to create the external life you want, start with the waveform energies inside you – your internal thoughts and emotions.
How the Law of Attraction Works
Now for the juicy part. How can we make the law of attraction work for us?
According to the law of attraction, “what we think about, we bring about.”
Think of a boomerang. You throw it and it comes back to you, no matter what.
Just like your energy, what you throw out into the universe, you will get back. We send out energy through our thoughts, words, actions, and daily habits.
These are all important factors that make up our energy and the vibrations we put out.
Jack Canfield is the author of one of the best-selling books, “Chicken Soup for the Soul.” This book shares the power and importance of vibration.
“In order to receive that which you are intending, you must become a ‘vibrational match’ for what you want to attract into your life.” Once you put in the practice, “you can begin to expect miracles.”
Jack Canfiled
How to Make the Law of Attraction Work for YOU
So, here’s how to make the law of attraction or LOA work for you.
Let’s say you want more love in your life. Do this by first showing yourself and others more love.
Take care of yourself. Practice self-care.
Be kind to others. Practice being more generous and compassionate.
You can start with the small actions each day – making a cup of coffee for your mom, picking up a bit more chores at home, checking in on your friends, or giving yourself some time to rest. These are small acts of love to yourself and others.
Now, if you want more money, envision it for yourself.
Make a vision board with photos of what your life would look like when you have the money. You can also try to write a check to yourself.
This makes your goal more visible and keeps your thoughts focused on the goal.
But an important thing to note when practicing the law of attraction is the mindset of gratitude.
Make sure to have a grateful mind and heart. This will make you appreciate what you already have while working towards your goals. It also raises your vibration to match a next-level version of yourself.
How To Use The Law Of Attraction?
Be clear on your goals and desired outcome.
This is a crucial step.
Without knowing your goals, you would not know how to get there. There is no foundation to build on.
In order for the law of attraction to work, your outcome should be crystal clear.
Try this exercise:
If you want more money, write down on a piece of paper or in your journal the exact amount you want to have.
If you want a healthier body, write down the activities you will be doing when you achieve that peak health.
Nothing should be vague when it comes to your goals.
Have a mindset of gratitude.
When you are in a mindset of gratitude, your energy increases, and your vibration is raised.
The key to cultivating a mindset of gratitude is to do it daily. Say thank you out loud – to yourself and to others.
Write down five things you are grateful for every day.
Spend a few minutes each morning or right before bed thanking the universe of the blessings you already have.
Create a vision board.
Now that you have a clear outcome, make the goal much closer to your reality by putting it into an image.
You can draw, or cut out photos, or use the internet to search for photos of what you want your desired outcome to look like.
Visualization helps you feel that you have already achieved your goal. Additionally, it helps your mind remember your desired outcome. Like we mentioned in the earlier section, science has shown that the brain reacts better to visuals than just words.
Take action.
Once you have set your foundation, it’s time to take action!
Surrender to the universe.
Now that you have started taking the steps to reach your goals, surrender to the universe.
Don’t keep asking when you are going to receive or achieve these goals. Just keep at it and detach from the outcome.
Does the Law of Attraction Really Work?
Manifestation works 100%.
With all the studies and success stories out there, there is so much proof that it does work!
But you’ll first have to overcome the first and biggest hurdle – your mind.
If deep down, you think this is all some woo-woo thing, then the law of attraction won’t work in the direction you want it to work. It is still working but on what you don’t want.
But if you put your mind, heart, and soul in it 100%, then in time, you’ll be able to experience amazing results.
Remember, what you think, you become. What thoughts you choose to focus on, become your actions. Your actions become your reality.
